The Road to Recovery in North America: An Overview

Almost a year after the pandemic first hit, north america recovery is finally beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to various vaccination efforts, infection and death rates are beginning to decline, and economies are starting to rebound. Here’s a more detailed look at the current state of affairs in North America and what the road to recovery looks like.

Vaccination Efforts are Paying Off

One of the most important factors in the road to recovery is the vaccination process. In the United States, over 100 million people have been vaccinated so far, with more being vaccinated every day. In Canada, 3.5 million people have been vaccinated, with plans to vaccinate everyone by September 2021. With more and more people getting vaccinated, infection and death rates are beginning to decline. This is a crucial development in the road to recovery as it means that life can begin to return back to normal.

Economies are Starting to Rebound

Another sign that North America is on the road to recovery is the fact that economies are starting to rebound. In the United States, unemployment claims have fallen to their lowest level since March 2020 and job growth has rebounded in recent months. In Canada, GDP growth rebounded in 2020 after a sharp decline in the second quarter of 2020. While there is still a long way to go, these signs indicate that economies are slowly but surely starting to recover from the pandemic.

There is Still a Long Way to Go

While North America is definitely on the road to recovery, there is still a long way to go. Infection and death rates may be declining, but they are still higher than they were before the pandemic hit. Furthermore, millions of people are still out of work and many businesses are still struggling. It will take some time before things return back to normal but thankfully, we seem to be moving in the right direction.
